Terms

The term Device refers to the Laptop, Desktop, Phone, Tablet or any other Electronic Device submitted to The Laptop Guy, Inc. for Diagnostic or Repair. The terms you, your and yourself refer to the person signing this agreement. 


Free  Diagnosis - only valid for drop off and mail in repairs. The free diagnosis averages 2-3 business days and will provide a suggested repair including the parts and labor involved.


Same Day Diagnosis - an optional service that has a non-refundable fee of $49 that is separate and in addition to any repair fees. A Same Day Diagnosis will guarantee that your Device is diagnosed the same day if it is checked in by 2pm Monday thru Friday.

  

Part Costs - Part costs will be quoted for your approval before work begins on your Device. Parts require upfront payment prior to the parts being ordered. Normal part ordering and acquisition time after payment is 2-5 business days. The Laptop Guy, Inc. uses new, refurbished and/or used parts for repairs depending on availability and pricing. The Laptop Guy, Inc. accepts credit cards and cash payments but does not accept checks (except for established business customers). Applicable sales tax will apply to all charges assessed by The Laptop Guy, Inc.


Labor Costs - Labor costs will be quoted for your approval before work begins on your Device. Labor rates are: Optimized $59, Standard $109 or Advanced $159 depending on the time and difficulty level of the repair. The Laptop Guy, Inc. retains the exclusive and sole right to decide which labor costs apply to a repair. The Advanced labor cost of $159 will be the applied labor cost for any device that needs multiple repairs.


On Site Computer & Network Setup - On Site Computer & Network Setup is $119 per hour. There is a 1 hour minimum and then labor is billed to the minute.

  

Remote Support - Online Remote Support is warranted for 90 days from the date of repair and covers the software service that we completed. It does not include any software problems or viruses/malware that occur to the computer after the date of service.

  

Mail In Service - The Laptop Guy Inc. is not responsible for packages lost or damaged during shipping.

  

Protect - Protect does not cover pre-existing problems or optional services like upgrades and does not cover the cost of parts if you have a part failure. It will cover the cost of labor for installing the part. You can request Protect cancellation at any time on your online profile or by contacting The Laptop Guy, Inc. Once cancelled, you retain full use of your subscription until your paid subscription time runs out.

Warranty - Items and Repairs sold by The Laptop Guy, Inc. are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase. The Laptop Guy, Inc. will repair or replace defective parts during the warranty period for no charge up to the value of the original purchase price. The following are excluded from the warranty: batteries included in used laptops, defects listed on price cards, new laptops covered by manufacturer warranty, re-installation of the operating system or the recovery of data, software repairs where there have been any alterations or additions including virus or spyware. Tampering, abuse, accidental damage or having a warranted item worked on by any person or company other than The Laptop Guy, Inc. will void any and all warranty.

  

Return Policy - Laptops and accessories may be returned within 14 days of purchase if defective. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, if an exchange is declined. All special order items, repair parts, and batteries are final sale.

  

Data - The Laptop Guy, Inc. assumes no financial liability for any data loss. Important data should be backed up before submitting your Device for Diagnostic or Repair.

  

Limit of Liability - In no event shall The Laptop Guy, Inc. be liable for any consequential or incidental damages due to lost data/program & or defects in parts, labor or loss of Device. The total liability of The Laptop Guy, Inc. shall not exceed the total paid to The Laptop Guy, Inc. for services or products rendered. You agree that the actual fees paid on your printed invoice reflect this limited liability & allocation of risk.

  

Unclaimed Devices – You grant The Laptop Guy, Inc. a security interest in & to the Device to secure payment of charges incurred. You understand that any Devices not claimed & paid for within (30) days will become property of The Laptop Guy, Inc. & all data on the Device will be wiped. You understand that The Laptop Guy, Inc. will make (2) attempts to contact you at the phone number provided.

  

Complete Agreement - You agree that these terms & conditions represent the entire agreement between The Laptop Guy, Inc. & yourself. No amendment or modification will be binding unless signed by an authorized The Laptop Guy, Inc. employee.
